Secrets of the Millionaire Mind Review
Amazing book, all though I did not relate to every wealth file, the ones that did absolutely hit home for me.
This is definitely a book that needs to be saved and re-read multiple times throughout one’s life, as they might start falling back to old habits, or their blueprints may change entirely depending on the circumstances. The affirmations and list of actions at the end of each file were perfect to really ingrain the information.
The loss of a star is due to how many times he referred to his seminars throughout the book, if his intention was to promote the seminars, it did the complete opposite. The first several times the seminars were mentioned I was convinced I should check them out. Very quickly did it become extremely repetitive and a turn-off.
Secrets of the Millionaire Mind Summary
In this book, T. Harv Eker goes on to explain how we all have a personal money blueprint ingrained in our subconscious minds, and it is this blueprint, more than anything, that will determine our financial lives.
That is why a lottery winner wastes all the money, while a successful person can lose everything, multiple times, and build it up again. A person usually returns to their comfort financial state, we must change our thinking in order to become rich.
He uses 17 ‘Wealth Files’ to explain this wrong thinking, and at the end of each file there are a list of actions for you to practise in the real world.
5 Key Lessons:
- ‘Money is not really that important’ If you said to your wife, partner, or friend they aren’t really important, would they be around for long? Money is extremely important in the areas in which it works, and extremely unimportant in the areas in which it doesn’t.
Poor people say “I’m not doing anything until I’ve identified every possible problem and know exactly what to do about it” causing them to never take action. When the correct order is: Ready, Fire, Aim. Get ready best you can in as short a time as possible, take action, then correct along the way.
- Whether you are rich or poor, playing big or playing small, problems do not go away. The secret to success is not to try to avoid or get rid of or shrink from your problems: the secret is to grow yourself so that you are bigger than any problem
- Even if the wealthy had all the money today, tomorrow there’d be millions, if not billions, more available. If you aren’t willing to receive your share it will go to someone who is.
The habit of managing money is more important than the money itself. Until you show you can handle what you have got, you won’t get anymore.
