Just when I thought that optical disks (CDs, DVDS, etc.) were something of the past. Even USB storage was starting to get old with all this cloud storage, being able to access it from anywhere, why wouldn’t you? But now Samsung and Sony are teaming up to develop a next-gen optical disk with a capacity of 300 GB. Why are we going back? Optical disks protect better against the environment (ie. dust and water resistance). Considering my TB external HDD is pretty much full, I could use a couple of these. Especially after having plenty of HDDs fail on me, I would feel secure knowing my 100GB and growing photo library is backed up and safe.
